Record Breakers!

Teila needed a Coffer Key from Beadeaux for her WHM AF Gloves, so I changed to THF and we went out there thinking this shouldn't take too long with TH2. I was wrong. We set a new record today by being in Beadeaux and the Qulun Dome for a total of FOUR hours before we gave up, completely agog at the fact we didn't get a single Coffer Key. Unbelievable.

Having given up rather upset, we went to meet Kellie in Windurst for the Charming Trio BCNM and Teila got her Mannequin Hands this time.^^ After dinner, I changed to COR and got a party after a short while with Kali, a Mithra I'd partied with in Yuhtunga. We had a full party, and went to Garlaige Citadel where we struggled as L30s against Siege Bats. The WHM then decided to log into his other char to PL us, and, FOUR levels later, we were still going strong.

There must have been something about the number four today. Four hours of no Coffer but four levels on my COR instead! I couldn't believe it. I'd never levelled so fast! Then people began to leave and things all went wrong. We got a new WHM and went to the Banishing Gate, but were plagued with AFKs and long fights, until eventually, half way to L35, we gave up and disbanded. I'd joked that my goal was L35 by Sunday night; it turns out that I may not need to joke...

Noct Gonna Miss No More

It hit me today that it was the real start of summer. It also hit me that it's practically SIX months since Christmas already. Half a year. It really does go to show that the older you get, the faster the years go by.

Quite a successful day today, but I messed up at the start. I wanted to finally do my rank up quest to Lance Corporal, so took a Chocobo to the very bottom of the Wajaom Woodlands in an attempt to begin collecting the samples of Mythralline from the Wellsprings but had forgotten to get a crucial cutscene from Whitegate. I therefore stared at the water and admired it for awhile, then ran all the way back, all for naught. I decided to carry on duoing with Teila as COR and BST in Meriphataud Mountains, and made ourselves a cheeky couple of K before I returned to Jeuno to pick up my Cloudy Orb so that Kellie, Teila and I could finally beat the BCNM 20: Charming Trio. Quite simply, we met up with Kellie in Windurst and ran to Giddeus. We got to Balga's Dais, entered the BCNM, and all three of us used Astral Flow. After a mere three Diamond Dusts from our Shivas, all three leeches were lying flat on their backs and the loot was ours. I got my Mannequin Hands! Kellie said she would log out here and we'd do it again tomorrow. After that, Teila went to join an Excavation Duty Assault and finally got her 20K AP so purchased her Yigit Crackows. I'm way behind her on this one - still got 15k to get, but Assaults have been draining me lately. The higher up rank you go, the less number of people join you. I, on the other hand, reverted back to COR and hit the jungle, picking up a party at five (plus PL) and hit Yhoator Jungle to fight the good ol' Mandies. We had a WAR tank, but for some reason the THF kept SATAing off me, but it wasn't so bad. I have high Evasion and Utsusemi, so I let her do it each time. Funnily enough I tanked better as a COR than I did last time I was here as NIN. With a PL and my Anniversary Ring active, we clocked through the mobs and I went from L28 to L30 real fast. I was so relieved when I did, and I changed into my Noct Armour, equipped my first Hexagun, and also donned my Gun Belt (until I remembered I needed RNG sub for that), and my damage and accuracy practically doubled! I hardly ever missed with my Ranged Attacks!

Satisfied, I logged out to do something else that wasn't FFXI-related. I watched Pirates of the Carribbean - Dead Man's Chest, but went to feed SilentForest before logging. She's one off First Class but only has FOUR days to go before her stats won't level any more.
