A Fresh Startaru - a-Golem!

Yes I'm back again, after a break of five months or so, as I'd been thinking about FFXI quite a bit, and following its updates on the web. It had lured me back another time (hey, would I quit for good? I don't think so), as, after all, it is the best MMO out there. To ease myself back into the controls, I went outside to level my SAM from L1 to L7, which I think happened in minutes. Still had a feel for the controls and it all came back to me in seconds, so I wanted to get back in as my PLD and progress with the game. As a L51 PLD, I was able to get my LB2 from Maat, so Cheekee offered to take me all the way up to Xarcabard on foot (I had never been before so no OP Warp and no Telecrystal. We ran through the Pass and past the nasty evil high level mobs, all the way up to the three NMs that need to be killed for the Key Items. I remember needing an alliance for these when I did them back in 2005 but Cheekee, as a L99 THF, was able to solo them pretty easily, but even so, at 51, I got caught in a Methane Breath for over 400 damage! Whatever happened to toning them down for smaller groups LOL?!

With no real trouble, and thanks to Cheekee, I managed to get my LB2 done, allowing me to get to L60 (and almost Campaign level!) without hindrance!
